In a letter to the mayor and city council, the board says dispensaries are providing a critical service in Ann Arbor. AnnArbor.com (http://bit.ly/y2pnP9) reports that the board is trying to license dispensaries while city lawyers are questioning whether they should be in business.
The Michigan appeals court last year said state law doesn’t allowmedical marijuana dispensaries, which typically are shops where people buy and sell pot. Some communities have cracked down since the court decision, but others have taken a hands-off approach. The Michigan Supreme Court is considering whether to take the case.
