Dear Mr. Rockind:
I want to take a moment to personally thank you for the help you have provided me over the past year. Knowing that I could count on you to help me gain a restricted license and finally a fully restored license meant the world to me. It is an honor and a privilege to know you and to have you advocate for me.
In 2007, I was going through one of the most difficult periods of my life. As a result of poor judgment and the pressures of a divorce, I was pulled over two times within 30 days for DUI. I took full responsibility for my substance abuse problem and I subsequently did everything I could to set myself on a path of recovery, attending 12-step meetings, sponsoring people, and earning my graduate degree as a social worker to help others. I even worked at a treatment center, performed pro-bono interventions, and volunteered at a ¾ house. I had completely turned my life around, but when I applied to the Secretary of State for reinstatement, they emphatically denied my request. They refused to recognize the evidence of years of work that I had put into turning my life around. I was devastated.
A friend of mine highly recommended Neil Rockind, stating, “He is the best attorney in Michigan. Rockind can fix this.” It didn’t take me long to realize that my friend was absolutely right. Upon meeting [you and your staff], I was immediately impressed. Mr. Rockind, [you are] confident, intelligent, and ready to take on the world. As busy as they are, his staff, especially Jennifer, took a personal interest in my case. It is amazing that an organization as busy and impressive as Neil Rockind’s would also have a personal touch that makes you feel like your case really matters. You won’t find that at the average attorney’s office.
Even more impressive is Mr. Rockind’s performance in court. My friend had told me that Mr. Rockind was literally mesmerizing in the courtroom. And I have to admit that it is absolutely true. Mr. Rockind [you are] the most confident and competent attorney I have ever witnessed. He commands the attention and respect of everyone around him.
Going to court, Neil was rock solid; he was articulate and clear, explained every detail of my transformation and who I am today. He tore up the Secretary of State attorney, when they claimed that I was only sober because of probation. Neil said, “If probation made people sober your honor, we would put all alcoholics and addicts on probation, and we would cure everyone’s addiction.” The courtroom giggled, and the judge nodded her head.
Neil and his staff are consummate professionals. They care about the details of your case and they see you as a person. They don’t judge or make promises that they can’t keep. In my opinion, and I work with a lot of lawyers, Neil is the best. Not necessarily because he is extremely bright, but because in the courtroom and under pressure, he has the heart of a lion. It is absolutely clear that Neil Rockind is the best attorney in Michigan.
