“In People vs. Ditz, the defendant is charged with one count of possession of a weapon in jail, one count of operating while intoxicated, and one count of possession of a firearm while under the influence. Southfield attorney Colin Andrew Daniels of Neil Rockind PC is counsel of record for the defendant, Joseph Frederick Ditz, Jr.”

Update:

After numerous discussions with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office regarding the felony charge of possession of a weapon in a jail, it became very apparent that the prosecutor’s office was merely pursuing the felony charge in order to protect and hide the misconduct of the State Police officer who effectuated the arrest. Armed with that knowledge, we filed a lengthy motion and brief to dismiss based on several grounds. A couple of days later the prosecutor’s office called and told us that  they were dismissing the felony charge. Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome!
